7th Grade English/Language Arts Teacher
Teaching experience: I have2 years of teaching experience.
Education: I graduated from CSU Sacramento with my BA and teaching credential.
Hobbies / interests outside of school: I love reading, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. I also spend a lot of my time with my husky, Layla, and black lab, Taz, and enjoy working on my large saltwater reef tank.
Educational Philosophy: I believe that each and every student has the opportunity of success. As a teacher, I genuinely love the work that I do and care about my students as well as their achievement in my class. I help my students achieve success through showing them that they have a voice in everything that they do. In this class, I give students tools to help them with writing skills and public speaking skills that they can use to express themselves formally for the rest of their school careers as well as in their careers after they graduate. We also work on the importance of reading, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary to improve their chances of success in many different aspects of their lives. I encourage students to appreciate diversity as well as express their own cultures in this class. I feel that students must respect themselves, the teacher, the classroom community, and the classroom itself in order to achieve the most positive classroom environment. With all of these things completed, students will be more successful learners and will have many great accomplishments throughout the course of this year as well as in their future.
